The order leaving all appointments to the PSC except the appointment of teachers in the universities of the State is in force. The PSC meeting approved the draft proposals in this regard. The notification may be published once the executive order is issued. The PSC notification is expected this year itself.
In 2016, non-teaching appointments in universities were handed over to PSC. Of these, only the appointment rules for the posts of Assistant and Computer Assistant were approved by the Government. Elections to these two posts were initiated by the PSC.
No graduates for last grade
Graduates cannot apply for the post of Last Grade Servant in Universities. The University Grade Grade has the same qualifications as the Last Grade Servant post in various Government Departments. Must have passed 7th class. But graduates should not. This qualification was approved by the PSC.
Total 21 posts
The appointments will be made to 21 non-teaching posts in universities. Key Posts: Last Grade Servant, Librarian, Bus Conductor, Assistant Engineer, Pump Operator, Public Relations Officer, Security Officer, Driver Grade-2, System Manager, System Analyst, Programmer, Overseer Grade-2.
Qualifications
Last Grade Servant
Ability to read and write Malayalam. Must have passed the seventh standard and not graduate.
Librarian
Post Graduate Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science with 55% marks or equivalent. 10 years experience as Deputy Librarian in University Library or 10 years experience as Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in Library Science or 10 years experience as College Librarian.
Assistant Engineer
Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation
Recognized degree or equivalent qualification in a related engineering subject (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation).
Overseas Grade– 2
3 years Recognized Diploma or equivalent qualification in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical related subject.
Pump operator
SSLC or equivalent qualification. Draftsman Electrical Biennial National Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification issued by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) after ITI Motor Mechanic (Fitter / Electrician) or 2 year Matriculation course.
PRO
Post Graduate Degree in Journalism / Mass Communication or Post Graduate Degree in any subject, Diploma in Journalism or Mass Communication or Public Relations. Three years work experience in a reputed media field or three years work experience as a PR professional in Government / Semi-Government / Autonomous Institutions.
Security Officer
A veteran who has a degree in any subject from a recognized university and has retired from the rank of Captain or equivalent from the Navy or Air Force.
Driver Grade– 2
SSLC or equivalent qualification. Heavy / LMV license and badge.
Bus conductor
SSLC or equivalent qualification, conductor license, badge.
Programmer
MSc Computer Science / MCA or B.Tech degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
